Cassia Leo - Book Tour

Relentless by Cassia Leo

Book Description:

Claire Nixon is a twenty-year-old college dropout with a secret.  To Claire, Adam Parker is just another flirty customer at the cafe, until a chance encounter and seemingly innocent comment spurs a bet between them.

The bet is simple: If Adam can get Claire to reveal the secret that made her drop out of college, she has to re-enroll.

If he doesn’t succeed, she gets to keep her secret and he has to stop stalking her at the cafe.  Claire thinks she has this one in the bag. She’s perfected the art of forgetting her past.

But she isn’t prepared for Adam’s relentless pursuit or for him to share his own secrets. And she’s definitely not prepared for her rock star ex, and her secret, to come banging down her door one year later.

Cassia Leo grew up in Florida and moved to California after graduating with a degree in journalism. She worked at two small newspapers before discovering her passion for writing romance. Her favorite color is lavender and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills.

Review :

This book was provided to be in exchange for an honest review for Cassia's book tour, and I couldn't be more happy that I excepted as this was a book I could not put down and consumed in one sitting. This was an amazing first novel and I think we are going to see amazing things from Cassia in the future and I cannot wait to read what she produces next.

This book must must must be added to your TBR lists asap!

"The relentless pull of love is a thousand times harder to fight than the tides. If you're lucky, you'll make it out before you drown. If you're even luckier, you're pulled under just long enough to wash away the sorrow. If you're really lucky, like me, you resurface just in time to find the one you love floating right beside you."

Living with a secret can literally take over your life, ask Claire for example. She is a twenty year old collage dropout who is addicted to meditation and trying to forget about her past, as far as she is concerned if she doesn't think or about it or remember it then it cannot effect her. Just don't ask her why she dropped out of Collage or mention the name Chris, or you will be for a whole world of awkwardness and Claire will need to go off and meditate.

Some people are addicted to heroin. Others are addicted to coffee. I’m addicted to meditation. No, not medication. Meditation.

Claire has come from a horrific background with a drug addicted mother who dies from an overdose when she was only seven years old. From then she was passed around the foster care system where she learnt to be afraid of men. That was until she met Chris, thanks to him and his family she was finally able to put her life back on track and have some form of normality. Chris becomes her sense of home, and with his help she learns to trust people and make friends and not hide away from the world.

He was was my first friend, my first family, my first heartbreak, and my deepest betrayal

"There are some things that, no matter how hard you try to convince yourself they're for the best, always seem to cut a chunk out of your heart. And you know that no matter how many wonderful people and beautiful adventures you welcome into your life, you'll never be whole again. You'll never be you again."

When we are first introduced to Claire it is a year after her break up with Chris and she is living in a small apartment with her best friend staying for the Summer. She lives her life in a routine that involves a lot of meditation and visiting of her elderly Landlord Cora. But when the charismatic and determined Adam moves into her apartment block her world is rocked, literally and she is faced with the bet of all bets.

“You’re a nosy little bastard.” He chuckles as he deactivates his car alarm. “It’s called getting to know each other.

Both Adam and Claire have troubled pasts, are they able to help each other heal or will it be a ticking bomb waiting to go off and leaving them beyond repair?

“I guess that’s the way secrets are. They’re only heavy when you’re holding them. As soon as you let go, the significance of keeping those secrets hidden blows away and everything falls into place. “

Adam is the kind of guy that can literally melt your heart; sweet, sexy and genuine I would rather like my own personal version of him asap if possible. He falls for Claire the moment he see's her, after he literally comes to her rescue; can anyone say Knight in shining armor? To me he seemed like the perfect guy for Claire as he was very supportive of her and didn't try and change her instead he wanted to help her.

"You're perfect," he insists as he grabs my face and forces me to look him in the eye. "Just the right amount of flaws."
This is one of those books that has a genuinely nice love story and those to me are some of the best stories you can read. It leaves you with a genuinely happy inside and glad you got to experience such a fantastic story.

“If this guy gets any sweeter I’m going to need a dentist. I can’t even be angry that he’s moving in on my turf because he seems to be doing a better job than me at keeping Cora company.”

Some people are debating if the end of the story has been left as a cliffhanger, and in some ways I agree but in other ways I disagree personally I am happy with the way the book ended but also very eager to see what the second book has in store for Claire and Adam.

" I want to leave you dazed and confused for a week with nothing but my name on your lips"

You have to read this, trust me you will not be left disappointed.

5/5 stars.
