Rule - Katy Evans
A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…
Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.
He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .
But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.
I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.
If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

Damn, I adore me some Alpha male rawness and this book gives me exactly what I want and I just could not get enough of the male lead Remington Tate aka Riptide and let me tell you he is sure ripped and shaped well in all the right places. I would not mind a little rumble in the ring with him.
Brooke is the sensible friend, she has fun but always in a sort of moderation, she knows how to keep her friends in line and even though she is struggling to find a job she still hasn't given up hope.
One night Brooke gets dragged to an underground fight with her best friend, the last thing she expected was to become one of the hundreds of women who instantly fall under the charm of 'Riptide' but after one glance at him she is enthralled, it isn't until the end of his match when he approaches her out of everyone that her feelings towards him are solidified.
“Your name,” he growls, panting, his eyes wild on mine.
“It’s Brooke Dumas,” she says, and then she happily shoots out my cell phone number. To my chagrin.
His lips curl and he meets my gaze. “Brooke Dumas.” He just fucked my name right in front of me.
He steps forward, and his damp hand slides into the nape of my neck. My pulse skitters as he lowers his dark head to set a small, dry kiss on my lips. It feels like he’s marking me. Like he’s preparing me for something monumental. That could both change and ruin my life.
“Brooke,” he growls softly, meaningfully, against my lips, as he draws back with a smile. “I’m Remington.”
After that Night Remington sends his assistant to track Brooke Down and offer her a job that will require her to follow him around on his tours.
It is easy to assume that Remy is uncaring an a fool due to the lack of dialogue he engages in but once you learn to look closer then you begin to realize that there is so much more to him especially when it comes to music, this is his form of communication and enables you to know what he is feeling and express it with him.
Remy has a lot of personal issues that have never been dealt with, he lives his life trying to forget about them and use the aggression he feel's to better himself in his career.
This is a book that will have you feeling a variety of different emotions and in the end you will be left with a huge hangover and crush on Mr Riptide himself.
An amazing debut novel and I cannot wait to see what else the amazing Katy comes up with because I am sure it will knock my socks off just like this book and possibly my knickers if she continues to create more sexy alpha males.
Firstly thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me for Whirlwindbooks, I am a huge fan of your debut novel and think you kind of amazing. I thought I would jump right in and ask what inspired you to write?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, since I was probably about twelve and I got hooked on Sweet Valley High and the Wakefield sisters! J I think I started my first book at around sixteen and from then on, I’ve started dozens and dozens of ideas that might not ever be finished, entered contests, the works. Practice makes perfect, though, so I am glad I’ve been practicing all this time.
I loved your book! I was just curious how did the idea for this series come about?
Thank you so much, I am so thrilled to hear this! I’ve always wanted to write Remington. He’s been in my head for a while and I know that if you read the book, you felt his quiet but powerful energy. He completely owned me from page one until the last. He is quite a force, that Riptide! J
Are there going to be more books in the same series? Maybe a spin off or something? I just cannot get enough!
Yes! Remington will get his own “REAL” in his Point of View, and Brooke and Remy are also getting a sequel, MINE, which I can’t wait to share with everyone! J
How did you find the support from other Authors? I have always been curious if it is a welcoming world or if you have to gain respect to be considered a part of it.
I have been truly amazed by the genuine kindness of all the other authors I have met! I’ve also met some incredibly supporters readers and book bloggers who have taken huge part in sharing their love and excitement for REAL. I can’t thank each of them enough!
How much of the book came from your imagination and how much came from real people and experiences?
I draw a lot from real experiences for I feel that you write better if you know what you write. So there’s definitely plenty in REAL that I’ve, at one point or another, had some kind of real experience with.
If you were to cast a movie for the book, who would you pick to play who?
I’d love Jennifer Lawrence as Brooke, she’s strong but sweet. And Remington is so much harder since he is such an amazing mix of boyish man, raw beast and cocky playfulness. Dimples and killer body. I might go for Chris Hemsworth due to the blue eyes, with a couple of changes, hah.
Do you have any other books planned that are not related to this series?
In the future, for sure! But for now, my head is still wrapped around this series, which will be a five book series; REAL will consist of 3 books, and then RAW will be another book (Melanie’s story), and the last will be RIPPED. I can’t wait to share them all with you!
Thank you again for taking the time to answer my Questions!
Thank you so much for the amazing interview and taking the time to read and review REAL. I couldn’t be happier. J
