Price of a Kiss - Book Tour

Title: Price of a Kiss
Author: Linda Kage
Release date: September 4, 2013
Age Group: Mature New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Description:

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—

Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.

It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate…except for one glitch.

He's a gigolo.

Review—A Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage

“’He doesn’t even have ex-girlfriends.  Because he’s a gigolo.’ …”Excuse me?” Eva smirked. “He sells his body for sex.”…”I’m talking about Mason Lowe, that guy you keep sexually harassing with your eyes.”…”You mean figuratively, right?” “I mean exactly what I said, literally.”…“What?” Eva managed to look insulted. “I swear to God, I’m not lying.  Do you want to go ask him?”

Reese Randall has a bad track record when it comes to boyfriends.  The fact that she had to change her name, her school, her entire life, just proves how bad things really were with her last boyfriend…and the scar on her neck is daily proof that she is lucky to be alive.

Now, living with her aunt, uncle & cousin (aka best friend) in Florida, Reese has a fresh start at a new school, where she can still plan for her major.  What she didn’t count on was spying the hottest guy on campus (and nearly combusting with lust)…let alone learn that he, Mason Lowe, is unavailable; not because he’s taken, but because she can’t afford him.

“It wasn’t fair that a bunch of strangers who knew nothing about him got to be with him in ways I never would.”

This was the best PG-13 Book I have read in a VERY LONG TIME!!  I only say “PG-13” because there is not a lot actual sex in the book.  There is plenty of talk, plenty of build-up/angst, definitely plenty of need, but not sex on every other page, so refreshing.  I liked that the relationship between Mason & Reese flowed…and that I didn’t have to witness his gigolo ways.  I liked the “creep-factor” that Kage used with not only the cougar landlady but also the stalker ex-boyfriend.  That gave me just enough of something else to focus on to keep Reese’s swooning over the impossible at bay.  I also loved the sub-characters that were introduced in the story.

Overall, A Price of a Kiss was a very easy, very refreshing, engrossing, fast read.  If how long it took me to read it was any indication of how I feel about the book, know this:  I did not function the next day because I was up all night reading!  (Yes, I even called out of work).  Fantastic YNA (yes, I just created my own genre)!
