Dahlia was certain she had found true love and met her "Once in a Lifetime’ when she reconnected with River. But Dahlia’s world comes crashing down when someone from her past resurfaces, and all of River’s carefully hidden secrets are exposed.
River wants to show Dahlia that life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s about dancing in the rain. But how many times can one broken heart be mended? Will River and Dahlia be able to stay together or will they be torn apart?
Torn is the sequel to Connected. Release date: October 1, 2013
A little while ago I read a book that literally hooked me in, I can safely say that it is one of the best NA books I have read - the only thing was it had a cliffhanger, and not just any cliffhanger one that literally caused me lack of sleep and a need to read the sequel 'Torn'. I cannot tell you how excited I was when Torn arrived on my Kindle - the world stopped until I finished it.
“I thought Ben was my once-in-a-lifetime, but who knew a once-in-a-lifetime love could happen twice?”
Connected had everything you could want; Heartache, Angst, Sex appeal and love. Kim is an excellent story teller and the way she weaves her words and the story together is impeccable. This is the story of True Love and finding, even if you find it twice in a life time you will still only have one other half who can make you whole and River was that for Dahlia - he literally was the other part of her soul.
“I love you- I thought I loved you from the first moment I saw you in the bar. And I knew I loved you five years later when I saw you in that conference room. But it wasn't until you said that you weren't just kissing me- you were whispering in my mouth- that I fell madly in love with you.”
Torn Takes off right after connected, River and Dahlia are moving forward with their lives - They are happy, in love and engaged. The one thing they do not expect? To have someone from Dahlias past literally walk smack into her life once again. How can they get past this new revelation when so much has been brought up from the past and there is still so much left unsaid?
This is not a book you can read in parts - you have to read it right there and then, if there isnt food and drink within reach you do not need it, in fact I would suggest no liquids as the toilet will also become something you will not be able to spare time for. I will admit I was worried where this book would lead, would there be a love triangle? Would it go in a completely different direction to what I expected? Well let me just say that the way Kim handled the storyline was amazing - no one could have handled it better.
“Dahlia, I would have married you at the campus bar that night if you would have asked. You're the only one I have ever really loved; the only one I will ever love. You, beautiful girl, are every breath I take. So of course I'll marry you today.”
There was so much more to this story then I originally thought and so many questions are answered that you weren't even aware needed answering but in retrospect where critical - there where the perfect amount of layers in this story to keep it at the perfect pace. This is one book where you will not get board in fact I was genuinely excited and happy to be reading it.
"More-we say that to each other all the time, but it's not about who loves the other more, it's simply that we love each other more than words can possibly express. And nothing or no one can ever change that."
Sex appeal? Yes it still has it . . . Oh my, can I please have my own version of River? I will make sure I feed and water him and of course he would be involved in vigorous activity daily - for exercise purposes of course *coughs*.
“Mine always," he whispers, nipping my earlobe with his teeth. "Yours forever," I breathe, burying my head in his neck.”
I cannot wait to see what else Kim gives us because she is one author I will be following for as long as she graces us with such extraordinary stories.

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.
I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.
I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart. <3
