Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.
The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.
Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”
Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “The Hammer.”
Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.
Lorrie knows that Hunter is exactly the type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.
As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

MY FAVORITE QUOTES FROM WRECKED
By Priscilla West

“But then again, normal’s boring.” – Hunter
Priscilla: When Lorrie and Hunter first meet they both discover that there’s something different about each other. Hunter realizes that Lorrie is a very troubled young woman, and even though Lorrie has a hard time processing it, she realizes that Hunter isn’t just a brawny bad-boy like he appears. It is because of this realization that both of them are so drawn to each other, leading to the events of the book.

___

“There’s no Rocky montage for overcoming obstacles in life. Not for me. Or anyone else.” – Lorrie
Priscilla: Lorrie has had to deal with so much in her life that she’s struggling towards a healthy way to move on. She isn’t quite jaded, but she definitely questions whether or not she can overcome the trauma of her past to lead a happy and productive life. Lorrie isn’t so naïve as to think that this is guaranteed and she’s terrified of what might happen if she never gets past her issues.
___

“I won’t let it happen. I’m gonna save us both.” – Hunter
Priscilla: Hunter, Hunter, Hunter… How can you blame him? Even though Hunter hides things from Lorrie, sometimes with disastrous consequences, he sees Lorrie as a fellow wounded soul. He might have given up on fighting his own demons a long time ago, but upon meeting Lorrie he realizes he can’t just give up. So Hunter decides that he needs to help Lorrie get past her own issues, but he doesn’t fully realize what he needs to do in order to accomplish that. This almost naïve element of Hunter’s promise to Lorrie leads to a situation that will change both of them forever.
___

“Dude, Lorrie. I’m not exactly a walking pile of answers. I may be a senior but if you think I’ve figured out everything about girls or life, you’ll be pretty damn disappointed.” – Hunter
Priscilla: Even very early in their relationship, Hunter admits that he’s still trying to figure things out. He’s keeping something really major from Lorrie because he wants to deal with it himself, but was we see, it leads to a lot of problems.

___

“Raaaammmmmpppaaaagggggggeeee!” – Hunter
Priscilla: I had to pick this quote! Who doesn’t love the six adorable kittens that Hunter and Lorrie rescue? Especially the troublemaker known as “Rampage”!
