There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there's everything AFTER... Life will never be the same. #Hessa

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She's got direction, ambition, and a mother who's intent on keeping her that way.

But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.

But he's also rude - to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin and she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless…could this be love?

So I feel like I should start off by saying I am not a One Direction Fan . . . If anything I will change the channel if they are on – they are purely just not my cup of tea, so when I first heard about this book I was sceptical part of me wanted to hate it purely for who it was a fiction of but then I decided to take a step back and remembered most of the books I consider my favourites are ones I never thought I would enjoy. Also there is the age old saying ‘Never judge a book by its cover’ well this made me realise I wasn’t going to judge it by other factors.

Like a lot of stories the main characters could not be more opposite; Tessa is a sweet girl with her head screwed on straight, she has the drive and determination to get to where she wants to be and that just happens to be at college. Hardin . . . sigh . . . He is exactly how you would picture a British to be and I have to admit I did like it, there is something about a cocky bad boy covered it tattoo’s that gives me the warm fuzzies which is something I do not feel when thinking of any member of One Direction so SCORE.

Like most good girls Tessa finds herself drawn towards Hardin and all of his bad boy ways, he is nothing like her boyfriend at home . . . yep she has a boyfriend, while I am not one for love triangles this situation I did not mind, so please do not let this you off the book.

Hardin is well . . . a bit of an arse to Tessa but this is because he does not know how to process what he is feeling so he lashes out with insults to push her away. But slowly you see the dynamic between them shift and change, at some points I was a little frustrated with the perpetual loop but at the same time there is something about a good angst ridden romance that keeps me glued to the pages.

This book made me feel and that is what I loved most about Anna’s writing, and believe me she can write I felt; Hate, sadness, happiness, anger, lust and it was all rolled into one.

I am not going to give it away but let me tell you the ending will leave you gobsmacked, in fact I think my jaw is somewhere on the floor behind me along with some of my feelings. I want to say a HUGE thank you to the hot bed for giving me the chance to read this book when I am fairly certain I would have overlooked it – I am proud to say I am now eagerly awaiting the next part of the book! Which I believe are all out this year.

4/4 stars for this read.
