Blog Tour -- Taming Ryder by Nicola Haken

~Synopsis~

You met Ryder Richardson in Being Sawyer Knight. Now, this is his story.

I’ve done it. I’ve stuck a whopping two fingers up at my parents, I’ve made a name for myself as one of the world’s biggest porn stars and I’ve finally found a family I belong in. Life is amazing. I get paid to do all my favourite things. Fuck. Party. Travel the world. What’s not to love? And then he comes along. Mason George – Back Door Studio’s newest exclusive model and the guy who has the potential to either fuck it all up, or take me on the best ride of my life. ~ Ryder I’m desperate. I’ve got nothing and nobody left. Entering the daunting world of adult entertainment is less of a dream and more of a necessity. Signing as Back Door Studio’s latest model has the ability to either ruin or make me, but I made a vow at my first audition never to let myself regret it. I continue to question myself each day, but no amount of what’s, why’s or what ifs will change where I am or where I’m heading. Am I strong enough to do this? To embrace it? To enjoy it? I have no idea. The only thing I’m certain of, is that if anyone can teach me who I’m supposed to be, it’s Ryder Richardson. ~ Mason

“Because the most exciting things in life always happen via the back door.”

~Review~

“So tell me, Ryder…why do you think you’d make a good Back Door boy?” “I can’t answer that. I guess that’s up to you to decide.  I mean, I’m not big or ripped like a lot of other guys, but I’m confident, adventurous, and I give everything one hundred and ten percent.  I also love what I do, but right now, I think my only purpose is to line the director’s pockets.  I kinda feel like I should be getting something too.”

Ryder Richardson. Cocky, confident, and hiding in plain sight.  Essentially disowned by his parents at a young age, demons trapped in his closet that he refuses to let escape help to keep Ryder aka Kyle King, porn star, well hidden.

No one knows him, and if he can help it…no one ever will.

Until Mason comes in the picture, literally.  Doing interview after interview for “fresh meat” at the production company, Ryder manages to find something wrong with everyone…but there is just something about Mason that forces Ryder to take a second look.

And maybe even a chance.

“I didn’t know Mason’s story, I didn’t know what he’d been through or what had led him to where he was.  But I wanted to.  Which kind of weirded me out a little because I didn’t usually have the time or the will to take such an interest in other people.  I’d always been of the mindset that the past doesn’t matter.  Good or bad, it was gone.  Over.  Forgotten.  If someone was nice to me, respected me in the here and now, then I didn’t need or want to know anything else.  But with Mason, something deep inside me itched to know everything.”

Except there are things that Ryder just doesn’t talk about…and Mason is the one person who finds a way to crack the fa├žade in place to keep people out.  Problem is, Ryder isn’t ready for someone to fight his demons for him…

He’s not even sure he’s ready to fight them himself.

I swear, Nicola has done it again.  I was a little weary going into this book because the first one was so amazing, I couldn’t possibly think another M/M in the same series (let alone the very next book) would measure up.  Well. I stand completely corrected…Taming Ryder was everything and more than what I expected.  Ryder and Mason’s story could’ve been written for a man and woman, and it would’ve been very good.  But reading a story about two men who have a connection like that is just…*sigh* …dreamy.  There really isn’t any other way to describe it for me. I loved every page.  Every part of the story resonated deep in my heart and I fell in love with these characters all over again.  I cannot wait to see what happens with Matt!  Beautiful.

**5 Making the First Time Special, Stars**

~Excerpt~

I caught a cab to Jewel, arriving just before 10 PM. Gio was there with his boyfriend, Sam, along with a handful of others from the studio. Taylor waved me over to where they were dancing and in the short time it took me to reach them I’d already been groped by two different guys. I fucking loved this life.
“About time, bitch!” Taylor greeted, kissing me on the cheek. Besides Gio, Taylor was probably one of the closest friends I’d made here. We shared the same love of fashion and music and he was almost as big a slut as I was. He was cute too – a couple of inches taller than me with olive skin, piercing blue eyes and right now he was sporting flashes of pink through his bangs. “Grab a glass!” he sang over the music, pointing towards the pitcher of cloudy pink liquid on the table behind us. Rubbing my hands together, I walked over and poured myself a glass, letting the night officially commence.
By 1:30 AM Taylor and I were down to our jocks, higher than kites and dancing on podiums opposite one another, Gio and Sam had bailed a couple of hours ago and the other guys were off dancing or fucking somewhere. I rubbed the sweat into my body as guys grabbed at my arse from every angle. Naturally, I played up to the attention, blowing kisses and arching my butt cheeks into their hands. Arms above my head, I rolled my hips, and every so often I would encourage random guys up onto the podium with a crook of my finger and kiss the ever living shit out of them. This was my idea of a perfect night.
An hour later I found myself in the dark room, shoving my dick down some random guy’s throat. I fisted his hair, controlling every movement and thrusting in so hard he gagged repeatedly. I couldn’t really see anything around me, including what the guy looked like, but the sounds of moans and slapping flesh coming from others was enough to turn me on so much I shot my load all over his face within minutes.
Of course, it was only polite to return the favour, so after guiding him up to my level and lapping up the taste of my spunk on his lips, I dropped to my knees and gave him a night to remember.
